DAVID EDGAR hopes Sam Vokes’ injury woes are the last hurdle Burnley face in their race for the Premier League.

The Welsh striker has notched 20 goals this season but went under the knife after suffering a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee – ruling him out of the run-in.

“He didn’t want it to end like this, but he’ll come back stronger,” said Edgar.

“It’s been a bitter-sweet season now, but he’s got a good head on his shoulders and he’ll be okay.

“Touch wood, we’ve been lucky with injuries for most of the season so hopefully nothing else sneaks up on us.”
