CHERRIES EXIT FOR DONAL

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

BOURNEMOUTH boss Eddie Howe admits Donal McDermott didn’t live up to his potential in a Cherries shirt after cancelling the winger’s contract.

McDermott, who began his career at Manchester City, made 35 appearances for Bournemouth across two spells but has not featured since the League Cup tie with Watford in August.

“Donal wanted to go back to Ireland and we agreed to that, it didn’t work out for him here and the club has moved on,” said Howe.

“As a player, Donal has undoubted ability but we didn't really see it on a consistent basis and it has been frustrating for him and us that it did not work out.”
