The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE - By Liam Coleman

MK DONS boss Karl Robinson admits his bold statements about Dele Alli keep coming true after the teenager lived up to his pre-match billing with a first-half rocket against Coventry.

Substitute Izale McLeod scored the winner after Sky Blues skipper Carl Baker had cancelled out 17-year-old Alli’s sensational volley.

And the hosts nearly took a share of the spoils when Antony Kay brought down Callum Wilson, but Dons keeper David Martin superbly kept out Baker’s spot kick.

Robinson said: “It’s funny how in the (match) pro- gramme it said that manager Karl Robinson hails Dele Alli as one of the best players in the league, and I love it when he proves me right.

“It’s an absolute wonder goal that Dele scored. There won’t be many better goals scored by a 17-year-old this weekend.
