SAFETY FIRST AT ADDICKS
LAWRIE Wilson has stated a case for Charlton’s defence, claiming the Addicks’ backline deserve new deals.
Ben Hamer and centre-half Michael Morrison, who are two of a number of out-of-contract players at the end of the season, have been key to their recent revival and Wilson wants to see them stay.
“The record of our defenders speaks for itself. It would be a shame if there wasn’t stuff done to keep them,” he said.
“But for the club, it’s a matter of seeing if we stay up before things get dealt with.
“That’s the sense I get – that we’ll have to wait until things are more permanent for next year regarding our position.”
