BALDOCK BACKS CITY TO PUSH ON

The Football League Paper - - INSIDE - By Isaac William

BRISTOL City striker Sam Baldock is convinced the future is bright at Ashton Gate.

City have been revived under Steve Cotterill with Baldock’s goal dragging them away from danger.

He said: “Relegation was tough to take last season and then this season was just as hard, because no one expected us to struggle like we did.

“But there have been a lot of changes since Steve came in and results and performances have improved significantly.

“For the first time since I signed, there is an air of optimism about the place and the players are excited about the future. It has made a big difference to our working environment and I can honestly say I’m enjoying every minute of it now.

“Now we’re creeping up the table, we can begin to think about next season, and our style of play and how we are going to go about things.

“The recovery we have made this season will definitely give us a platform to do better next year. There are bound to be a few changes in the summer. The manager made some in January and I would imagine some of those he wanted were not available back then, but will be in the summer.

“We don’t know what his plans are, but we are all looking forward to pushing on.”
