A MATCH TO FORGET FOR COLIN

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO - By Thomas Hannah

BURTON and Hartlepool are heading in opposite directions and while the Brewers seek a move into League One, Pools look like relegation fodder.

They might be in the same division for now, but there looked like more than two divisions between them. One bright, powerful and inven- tive, the other flat, slow and insipid.

Pools have lost six successive games and sit two points in front of the bottom two.

Their boss Colin Cooper refused to answer any questions about this game or the non-performance of his players.

Instead he wanted to turn his attentions to Monday’s vital home game with fellow strugglers Morecambe. “I’m not going to make assess- ment and all I will say is we have a very important game on Monday – that’s as much as I’m going to say,’’ said Cooper.
