PHILLIPS ENDS ON A HIGH AT FOXES
LIFE may begin at 40 but Kevin Phillips admits he found it too tough to give it one last shot at the Premier League.
The Leicester striker, capped eight times by England, has announced his retirement with immediate effect after helping fire the Foxes back to the top level.
He will now move on to the coaching staff at the King Power and he said:“I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I turn 41 in the summer and training every day is getting harder and harder with all the aches and pains.
“It’s probably the right time to pursue other things in my life now and put the football to bed. It’s been a long innings, but an enjoyable one.”
