RYAN FLYNN brought more joy for happy Sh­effield United fans when he ran out to the strains of Mak­ing Plans for Nigel over the tan­noy.

The wide man, first of man­ager Nigel Clough’s sum­mer sign­ings this week when he agreed a new twoyear deal, cel­e­brated with a bril­liant equaliser for his sev- enth goal of the cam­paign.

He then made a fine 73rd-minute win­ner for sub­sti­tute Ben Davies as the home side clinched a re­mark­able sev- enth-place fin­ish.

Clough, who took over when United were in the bot­tom four in bleak Oc­to­ber, said: “Ryan’s been do­ing his de­fen­sive du­ties bril­liantly and we wanted a bit more go­ing for­ward, so it was great that he got his goal.

“His part­ner­ship with John Bray­ford down the right side has been a real strength for us.
