WYCOMBE fans would have left Adams Park wondering if their glass was half full or half empty after an agonising finish to their goalless draw with Bury.

The home side hit the bar twice in the dying minutes but failed to convert one point into three despite having the better of their promotion-ambitious visitors.

The Chairboys escaped relegation to the wilderness of Non-League on goal difference last season and Gareth Ainsworth’s side and their supporters will be buoyed by the start they have made this term.

With three wins and just the single defeat from their opening six fixtures, this result and performance against the much-fancied Shakers is a telling sign of positivity coming from the Buckinghamshire club.

For Bury, their unbeaten run in the league stretches to five games and they look a strong prospect for a top-seven finish this season – even if they may feel fortunate to have taken a point away.
