Out with the old, in with new Paul Mullin

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

VETERAN former Morecambe striker Paul Mullin has taken to twitter this week to clarify that he has not come out of retirement – and that the new Shrimps striking sensation of the same name is young enough to be his son!

Various media outlets have been getting the two confused since 19-yearold Mullin started banging in the goals at the Globe Arena this term.

The 41-year-old version, who scored 16 times in 66 games for Morecambe before retiring three years ago, tweeted images of a national newspaper report bearing his face, and another that read: “Taken from Tranmere programme today. The clue is in the write up ....19 years old??”

Of his younger namesake, who had three goals before yesterday’s game with Cheltenham, he added: “That’s what he will look like if he doesn’t moisturise!”

Which one: Mullin or Mullin?
