FRANK’S TIME TO FIRE NOW
STEVEN PRESSLEY has challenged striker Frank Nouble to finally live up to his potential with Coventry.
The 22-year-old Ipswich forward, currently on his eighth loan spell, made an impressive debut against Gillingham last Friday and scored the winner in the club’s return to the Ricoh Arena.
But Sky Blues boss Pressley, who signed a new contract during the week, wants to see the ex-West Ham man kick on.
“I said to Frank the other day that I want to help him fulfil his potential, but for him to do that, it’s a two-way thing and he has to buy in to what we are,” said Pressley. “I believe that if he does that then he can start fulfilling that potential.
“I think he’s got a lot of work to do and that he’s only realising a small part of that potential. But I think there’s a lot there to work with and the good thing is he’s still only 22, so he’s still got the chance to achieve that.”
Pressley penned a four-year deal to remain with the club on Wednesday, and he says everything is falling into place.
“We’ve worked extremely hard over the last 18 months,” he said. “And, slowly but surely, we're seeing things turn around.”
