The Football League Paper - - STEVE CURRY -

WHEN Shahid Khan had the hideous statue of Michael Jackson removed from beside the Thames at Craven Cottage I felt maybe a man of common sense had taken over Fulham. Should have known better.

It is my belief that had he stuck with Martin Jol and his very able coach Billy McKinlay the club would still be in the Premier League. Instead three managers have come and gone in under 12 months and the club prop up the Championship with one point from seven games.

The atmosphere around the club has deteriorated, there is a lack of trust, and uncertainty has spread from the dressing room to terraces. Fulham’s fans deserve better. Say what you want about Mohammed Al-Fayed – and I did – but many of those loyal to the team would have him, yes, and the statue, back.

HIDEOUS: Jackson statue
