DUNNE AND BEEVERS ARE LIONS’ TAMERS

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

FOR all of Nottingham Forest’s attacking talent, they came up against two centre-backs, in Alan Dunne and Mark Beevers, who haven’t given much away this season.

The pair did an excellent job of keeping Britt Assombalonga quiet and, once Michail Antonio had tired, Millwall began to take over.

The Lions came into this one having lost four of their last five games, but there was no sign of a lack of confidence from Ian Holloway’s men after the break.

Mathias Ranegie would have put them ahead but for a stunning stop from Karl Darlow, while energetic midfielder Ed Upson was a constant thorn in Forest’s side.

All in all, Stuart Pearce will probably be the happier of the two bosses as his side remain unbeaten and the side to catch at the top of the Championship.

If they want to sustain a promotion charge beyond the autumn, though, they will have to improve when visiting intimidating grounds like The Den.
