COLLINS: I WANT TO THANK U’S
MICHAEL COLLINS dedicated his first Oxford goal to fans for their support while he sat by his daughter’s hospital bedside.
Newborn Nyla spent two nights in Oxford Children’s Hospital with breathing difficulties earlier this month.
The 28-year-old, who joined Oxford from Scunthorpe in the summer, returned to action last week and then scored in the 3-1 midweek win over Accrington.
“It’s just one of those unfortunate things I certainly don’t want to ever experience again,” said the former Huddersfield man.
“But I was touched by the way the club dealt with it and the support I’ve had from fans.”
