CITY STIFFS CUT COSTS RY FITNESS
STRIKER Ryan Jarvis believes York City’s decision to disband their reserve team is hindering the fitness levels of those in the Bootham Crescent squad.
Former Norwich, Leyton Orient and Torquay forward Jarvis has been limited to just two first team starts this season, but with the Minstermen not part of an official reserve league, chances to build up his match fitness are scarce.
The 28-year-old said:“You need games to get that, not just extra training. We’ve probably got seven lads who aren’t getting 90 minutes, or even 30, every week.
“Not playing in match situations is a problem. It’s hard if I’m not in the first team.”
