Jesse hunts a new challenge

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

THERE won’t be a more nervous man in Accrington next Saturday than Stanley chairman Peter Marsden – and it has little to do with the result of their big game with Plymouth Argyle.

The struggling League Two club will be relying on reality TV star Jesse McClure, of Storage Hunters to change their fortunes.

Next Saturday’s match at the Store First Stadium will see the American attempt- ing the crossbar challenge from the halfway line. If successful, he will raise £10,000 from company Store First towards a new van to transport players to training.

New manager John Coleman also could be tempted to swerve his half-time team talk to watch events unfold.

If the American celebrity makes the kick, then the returning Accrington boss may be able to make a case for signing a new player!

Jesse, a surprise supporter of Accrington who appeared on Soccer AM in a Stanley shirt earlier this year, said:“I love football and I love the people of Accrington so when the club asked me to try my luck at the crossbar challenge, I was only too happy to help.

“It is going to be an awesome day.”

Accrington are offering VIP meetand-greet tickets with Jessie. Visitcringtonstan
