Born: Nottingham, 1973 (Age 41) 1991-95: A scholar at Notts County, Johnson excelled through the ranks and made his senior debut at 17. He made 107 appearances in his four year spell.
1995-03: Johnson joined Birmingham City for a fee of £230,000. He instantly walked into the first team, and was a r egular until the 2002-03 season when he fell out of favour. While at Birmingham, Johnson gained 12 caps for Jamaica. In 2003 he moved to Derby County on a free transfer. In total Johnson made 262 appearances and scored 12 goals for Birmingham. 2003-08: Johnson went straight into the Derby starting XI. He spent five years at Derby gaining promotion to the Premier League as club captain in 2006. At the age of 34, Johnson spent three months on loan with Sheffield Wednesday in the 2007-08 season before returning to Derby in the December. He made three more appearances for the Rams before returning on loan to Notts County in February 2008. Johnson finally scored his first goal for Notts County and made 12 appearances before the end of the season. 2008-present: Agreed a one-year permanent deal from Derby to Notts County at the end of the 2008 season, Johnson made 29 appearances in 2008-09. At the end of the season he announced his retirement. He is currently club ambassador at Birmingham City.
