Little couldn’t prevent relegation to the Conference but he did manage two successive promotions following that. 1991-94: Now 37, Little took over as manager of Leicester City. The Foxes had just avoided relegation to the Third Division but Little got them on the rise. It was third time lucky in the play-offs after two successive final defeats. They made it to the Premier League but were relegated in their first season in the top flight. 1994-98: Little returned to Aston Villa but this time as manager. He guided the club to the League Cup in 96 and Little twice got the club into Europe. A fourth place finish in the Premier League and an FA Cup semi-final was also achieved to establish Little as one of the true Villa Park legends. 1998-2007: After resigning from Villa, Little took over at Stoke but lasted just over a year, before spending just eight months at West Brom. Spells at Hull and Tranmere followed. 2007-present: Little took over Wrexham but couldn’t save them from relegation into the Conference. He left by mutual consent less than a year into the job and took over at Conference North side Gainsborough but was sacked early in the 2011-12 sesaon. Little is now Jersey FA’s director of football.
