EX-FOXES IN BOX ARE IN SYNC AGAIN
DESPITE a long-term injury to top scorer Joe Garner, Preston forward Paul Gallagher is confident his side will not be short of goals once he reestablishes his strike partnership with Jermaine Beckford.
The pair made 26 appearances together over two years at Leicester City, with Beckford recently joining the Lilywhites on loan from Bolton for the rest of the season.
Gallagher is currently in his second season on loan at Deepdale from Nigel Pearson’s struggling Premier League outfit, and the 30-yearold insists his fellow former Fox can help North End achieve pro- motion this campaign.
“I played with Jermaine quite a lot at Leicester and when people know what you’re going to do it’s a lot easier,” said former Blackburn Rovers hitman Gallagher.
“He’s come in and settled into the squad quite nicely and it makes it a lot easier when you come into a club where you’re doing well.
“We’ve lost a few on the bounce, but good teams come back and win a few on the bounce and that’s what we’ve done.
“We want to try and achieve something here and promotion has always been the word, so losing Joe is a big blow for us but we’re trying to do things out there.”
