MORRISON’S ON THE SHOPPING LIST
GARY Rowett has revealed Birmingham are looking to make a permanent move for Charlton’s Michael Morrison when his loan expires in January.
The 26-year-old has made a big impact since arriving at St Andrews at the end of October as Rowett’s first signing as manager.
After a string of commanding performances at the heart of the Blues’ back four, Rowett admits Morrison would be a perfect fit for Blues.
“We are in discussions with Charlton just to see if it is something they would consider in January,” he said.
“Whether they would consider extending the loan until the end of the season or whether they would consider letting us take him permanently.
“Until we are clear on what they want to do it’s a sort of irrelevant conversation.
“But what we have made clear to Michael is we would like to keep him. He has done brilliantly for us.
“He is someone that a club like us should be looking at trying to keep for as long as we possibly can because he’s the right age, he’s got the right experience, he’s got the right characteristics that we like and I think he has been excellent so far.”
