COOPS SO GLAD OF BEN GAMBLE
THERE is a wealth of untapped talent in Non-League football according to Swindon boss Mark Cooper – and Ben Gladwin is proof of that.
Gladwin signed a new two-and-a-half year deal at the club this week after joining from part-time club Marlow last summer.
The former removals man has proved to be a crucial part of the high-flying Robins’ midfield this term as they gun for promotion to the Championship.
And Cooper believes that the 22-year-old is going from strength to strength as he adapts to League One.
“We took a gamble on him,” said Cooper. “It shows you they are out there – young players who have slipped through the net.
“Although they’re maybe deemed not good enough at a certain age, they can come back. Ben’s a shining example of that.
“I’ve said on record before he’s nearly always the best player in training. Hopefully now we’ve started to see the transition onto the big stage. He’s certainly starting to light up games. It was important we got him on board for a couple more years.”
