HUGHES GETS BOSS BACKING
NEWPORT boss Justin Edinburgh believes defender Andrew Hughes will return as good as ever despite suffering a serious knee injury.
Hughes, 22, will undergo surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury and will miss the rest of the season at least.
“This is a huge blow for Andrew as it is for the football club,” Edinburgh said. “His performances this season have been first class.
“Knowing Andrew as a person, his temperament and attitude will get him back to full fitness sooner rather than later.
“We have no doubt that he will return to full fitness being the highly motivated professional that he is.”
