SHEA TO STAY WITH THE DONS
AFC WIMBLEDON boss Neal Ardley says James Shea’s swift rate of progression convinced him to offer the goalkeeper a new contract.
The former Arsenal stopper’s career looked to have stuttered when he joined Non-League Harrow Borough following his release from the Gunners in 2013, but the 23-year-old is flourishing at Kingsmeadow and this week extended his current deal, though the terms haven’t been disclosed.
“He has shown great application to be at the level he is at now and that’s ahead of where we hoped he would be,” Ardley said. “Good goalkeepers are at a premium and we believe we’ve got a very good one.”
