MANAGER John Coleman believes cries for Accrington Stanley to desperately sign a striker have been greatly exaggerated.

Ahead of yesterday’s visit of Northampton, Stanley had scored just four goals in seven matches.

“Four weeks ago we didn’t think we needed a striker and we’ve not become a bad team overnight,” he said.

“We need to start scoring and stop being wasteful in front of goal. We look nervous at the moment for some reason.

“There is no point feeling sorry ourselves as we have to be positive – if we lose games while being positive, then so be it.”
