FOREIGN players often take a while to get to grips with the English game but Charlton’s newest signing Christophe Lepoint is unconcerned.

The 30-year-old joins the Addicks from Belgian side KAA Gent for an undisclosed fee after signing a contract until 2017.

The midfielder made two appearances for the Belgium national team in 2010 but struggled to recapture his top form after being seriously injured in a car accident in January 2011.

“I have always watched Match of the Day and other English football,” he said. “I think my style will fit well in the English Championship and I believe I have the profile to progress and perform well in this league.

“Naturally it will take a little bit of time for me to adapt, but I am a quick learner and I will be fighting for the club from the first moment. For me it has always been a dream to play in England and now I have signed I will work hard for the team from day one and do my best.”

Lepoint has previously played in Germany, Turkey and the Netherlands.
