WE’RE ALL UNITED TO BEAT DROP SAYS LEE
BLACKPOOL boss Lee Clark is hoping that the ‘Manchester United way’ can help steer his side to safety.
The Seasiders currently find themselves cut adrift at the bottom of the Championship with just 19 games to go.
But Clark is not giving up hope just yet and has brought in Manchester United midfielder Joe Rothwell on loan for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old is yet to make a professional appearance but Clark is convinced his experience in the Old Trafford set-up will stand him in good stead at Bloomfield Road.
“Joe is someone we’ve been monitoring for a while and I’m pleased that a deal has been agreed,” explained the Blackpool manager.
“He’s very highly regarded at Old Trafford and I’m looking forward to working with him.
“He has a lot of talent – he has the Manchester United mentality, the work ethic, the training. They train how they play.
“He is an exciting young player. I’d like to think he can do what young Jesse Lingard did for me at Birmingham.
“I think he can add to us at the top end of the pitch. He’s a young player with a lot to prove in the game, and that can only bode well for us.”
