HUME RENEWS ROVERS AFFAIR
MICKY Adams believes Iain Hume’s love for Tranmere is what brought the striker back to Prenton Park.
Canadian international Hume had been out of English football since leaving Preston at the end of last season, the 31-year-old going on to play for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League.
Hume was voted player of the league after helping the Blasters reach the final, but has since rejoined Tranmere on a six-month contract.
And having started his professional career with Rovers – making his debut at the age of 16 and going on to score 37 goals in 177 appearances over seven seasons – manager Adams insists the forward’s love for the club is the main reason he put pen to paper.
“I’m delighted Iain has agreed to joins us,” said Adams.“He had a number of options with other clubs but his passion for Tranmere was clear to see when I met him.
“He can score goals, he can open up defences and create chances for others and he’s a handful for defenders. He’ll increase the competition for places up front and add to our attacking options for the second half of the season.”
