WOLVES THROW STONES KID A DEAL

The Football League Paper - - NEWS -

WOLVES have swooped to sign England schoolboy cap Aaron Simpson from Non-League Maidstone United, writes JOSHUA PECK.

The teenage defender, pictured above left, moves to the Championship side after impressing on trial.

Simpson, 17, made his debut in men’s football only in January 2014 for Whitstable, but stepped up to the Ryman Premier Stones last summer.

Impressive performances in the FA Cup against Stevenage and Wrexham alerted Wolves to his potential and he penned a twoyear deal this week.

Simpson said:“I don’t know too much about how it came about. I think they saw me play in a few games, gave me a trial and offered me the deal at the end of the week.

“I liked the club from the minute I came. I think it’s the right move for me.

“Ever since I’ve been young it has been my ambition to go pro. It’s the icing on the cake for the last year.”
