CHRIS O’Grady has vowed to jus­tify the £2m fee Brighton paid Barns­ley for his ser­vices af­ter manager Chris Hughton backed him fol­low­ing an in­dif­fer­ent start to life on the south coast.

The for­ward was sent out on loan to Sh­effield United be­fore Christ­mas but was re­called when Sami Hyypia re­signed and struck in FA Cup ties against Brent­ford and Ar­se­nal.

“I’ve suc­ceeded at all the clubs I’ve been at in the past five years, which has led me to be here,” said the 29-yearold. “Fail­ure is not re­ally an op­tion.You have to work as hard as pos­si­ble to suc­ceed.

“My fam­ily is here.We are set­tled. The kids are in school and happy.”
