KIM SO KEEN TO PLAY FOR MALKY
WIGAN have signed South Korea international Kim Bo Kyung – despite manager Malky Mackay allegedly racially abusing him while the pair were at Cardiff City.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder joins until the end of the season after having his Cardiff contract terminated by mutual consent on January 24.
Mackay is currently subject of a Football Association investigation, accused of exchanging a series of racist, sexist and homophobic text messages with Iain Moody, Cardiff’s former head of recruitment.
But Kim said: “I am very happy to be joining up with the gaffer again. I really enjoyed working with him in the past and he helped me so much in my career.
“He gave me the chance to fulfil my dream of playing in England and I am now looking forward so much to working with him again.
“Since becoming a free agent, I had various offers but when the chance came to be with the gaffer again at Wigan, this really was the only place I wanted to come.”
Mackay was sacked by Cardiff’s Malaysian owner Vincent Tan in December 2013 before taking the job at Wigan last November.
Kim has won 30 caps for South Korea.
