CHERRIES BANDWAGON CRUSHES LATICS

The Football League Paper - - CHAMPIONSHIP -

BOURNEMOUTH’S magical march towards the Premier League continued with this win over Wigan.

The Cherries fought off a Wigan side who scrapped for their lives in the second half, which will stand Eddie Howe’s side in good stead heading into their key top of the table clash against Derby.

And in Callum Wilson, Bournemouth have a striker that can scare the most formidable of Championship defences.

For Wigan, losing to a side competing for the top flight is certainly no disgrace.

But Malky Mackay’s men are walking a perilous tightrope the longer they go without stringing together a series of results.

They have not won at the DW Stadium since August and Mackay has recently sold some of his bigger players, such as Callum McManaman and Shaun Maloney.

The Latics need to put points on the board sooner rather than later or League One will surely beckon.
