CRAWLEY Town fans will be the envy of their counterparts nationwide when they stride around the town in replica shirts with the name ‘Pogba’ printed on the back.

But though Premier League clubs would queue up for the signature of Juventus’ exManchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, English football’s other Red Devils have secured the services of his brother Mathias, a Guinea international, until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old former Crewe and Wrexham striker was released last month by Serie B club Pescara and reunites with ex-manager Dean Saunders.

“I know Mathias from my time at Wrexham,” Saunders said. “We’re lucky to get him really because he’s been in Italy with a team who paid £300,000 for him and we’ve got him for free.

“He’s a big, strong lad. He doesn’t look pretty on the eye at times but he’s got a presence, he’s good at set-pieces and he’ll use his strength to hold the ball up for us. He’s scored goals at this level.”
