Paddy pops up to help Iron fan Ross

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

PADDY MADDEN left a Scunthorpe fan with music in his ears after the striker popped up on twitter with a generous offer.

Iron fan Ross Gibson sold his iPod so he could afford a ticket to last weekend’s League One clash at strug- gling Leyton Orient.

And after describing his dilemma on the social networking site, Madden responded and left a ticket for the dedicated fan.

Gibson said: “I was looking around my bedroom at what could get some cash. I bought the iPod before I got my new phone, and thought I might get £50 or £60 for it on eBay. With that I could cover my travel and ticket.

“I didn’t direct the tweet at Paddy about selling my iPod, and his response was completely unexpected. He deserves recognition for what he has done and this gesture just shows the togetherness of the club.

“This is such a good reflection on the club. It means I can save the money from selling my iPod and use it for something else.”
