CORRY EVANS – The Blackburn Rovers defender chooses his favourite XI, made up from players he has played with in his football career.
Vito Mannone – Sunderland I played with him at Hull when he came on loan from Arsenal and he has gone on to have a very successful career which doesn’t surprise me as he is a very talented goalie. He has a good sense of humour, but when he’s in goal he becomes very serious.
Ahmed Elmohamady – Hull City He is a really attacking full-back and he always likes to provide players with assists. He provided the most crosses in the Championship when we got promoted to the Premier League in 2013. He did a strange dance to celebrate that promotion and was always a good laugh.
James Chester – Hull City We came through the academy at Manchester United together and we also played at Hull, so I’ve been friends with him since we were 14. He’s really good at reading the game, can pass well and is agile. We keep in contact and it’s great to see him playing well.
Jonny Evans – Manchester United As my brother, he is always someone I have looked up to and admired, and he has gone on to have such a successful career at Manchester United. He’s a great defender who I’ve been lucky enough to play alongside at international level, which was a proud moment.
Robbie Brady – Hull City I came through the United academy with Robbie. The season we got promoted with Hull he showed his class with his goals and creativity. Robbie is always the centre of the entertainment, he’s lively and makes people smile.
Sone Aluko – Hull City He was on fire the season we got promoted with Hull. He is a good dribbler who can get out of tight situations and that was invaluable for our team at the time. We also had good team morale and Sone contributed to that – it was one of the main reasons we went up.
Steven Davis – Southampton He is the current captain of Northern Ireland and when you play with him in the national team he makes it look effortless. He’s a very elegant player and also a great leader. He is one of those players that you only realise how good he is when you see him play live.
Tom Cairney – Blackburn Rovers Technically very gifted and can operate in a lot of different positions. He has a wand of a left foot and is very aware of the space around him. He has it all really and is someone I really enjoy playing alongside. We both moved from Hull to Blackburn at the same time.
Ben Marshall – Blackburn Rovers Adept at playing on either wing, as he is two-footed, and a very good dribbler. Me, Cairney and Marshall often give each other lifts to training and are good friends. He likes to have a laugh and is always good to be around.
Rudy Gestede – Blackburn Rovers Blackburn signed him for a bargain fee and he has just gone from strength to strength. If you put the ball in the right areas, it’s highly likely he will put it away. The fact that he has been linked with a move shows just how well he has played.
Jordan Rhodes – Blackburn Rovers I didn’t know too much about him when I first joined Blackburn. But after training with him I realised how good his movement is, how good his instincts are and what a good finisher he is.
