It was well Worth entering, wasn’t it?

The Football League Paper - - FINAL THIRD -

EXETER City fan Jason Worth is flying off to New Zealand to visit his four-year-old daughter – despite not winning a competition!

Worth, 31, narrowly missed out on winning £5,000 in the first Sky Bet Transfer Fund competition, but the big-hearted betting firm stumped up the cash for the Auckland trip after learning that was how he would have spent the money if he’d won.

“I’ve missed Caira so much since she left for New Zealand in July last year,” he said. “Now thanks to Sky Bet I’ll be seeing her again very soon.”

Worth was one of 10 finalists - from over 70,000 fans who entered - selected for the final draw at Wembley back in December.

It gave fans the chance to win £250,000 for their favourite club to spend on players in the January trans- fer window. Nottingham Forest fan Shaun Lander scooped the £5,000 prize money and Forest brought in Aston Villa’s Gary Gardner and Chelsea’s Todd Kane on loan until the end of the season.

The Sky Bet Transfer Fund has reopened for the second half of the season with another £250,000 to be won – and another £5,000 for a lucky fan. See transfer fund
