LEDESMA CHUFFED TO BE A SEAGULL
EMMANUEL Ledesma admits even he was shocked by his sudden move to Brighton.
The 26-year-old Argentine has only featured twice for parent Middlesbrough this season and has already had a loan spell at Rotherham earlier in the campaign.
And after signing on loan for a month with the Seagulls, winger Ledesma says he is keen to impress.
“I was surprised when I heard Brighton were interested in bringing me here because it’s a big club and I didn’t expect it,” he said.
“I’ve come here to help the team and enjoy it. I have to show my ability and show everyone I can play.
“I’m happy because in 2011 I came for a trial, and now I come to play for the first team and I will give my all.”
Ledesma won’t be entering the unknown down by the coast, however. He already knows a few Albion players and intends to hit the ground running.
“I have some mates here like Inigo Calderon, Joe Bennett and Bruno and I’ll try to help them and all the team,” he added.
“This is the Championship and everything can change. I love the competitiveness.”
