LONERGAN LONGING TO PLAY

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE -

BOLTON stopper Andy Lonergan is desperate to stake his claim for the No.1 jersey following Adam Bogdan’s injury.

The 31-year-old has mainly played second fiddle to Bogdan this season, but with the Hungarian battling back from an ankle injury, Lonergan is determined to seize his opportunity.

“He’s a great talent and whenever he’s been out of the team, it’s generally been down to injury rather than form,” he said. “But that’s why your number two is there – to step in when required to take the chance. People also get dropped; that’s part and parcel of the game and you can't afford to get complacent.”
