MIKE: MY POMPEY STRUGGLE
FORMER Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton has lifted the lid on the circumstances behind his move from the south cost to Blackpool back in November 2012.
Appleton, 39, joined Portsmouth in November 2011, just two weeks prior to owner Vladimir Antonov having a warrant issued for his arrest and the club entering an arduous spell of administration.
He said: “Things like having the transfer embargo sprung on me, although that wasn’t the only reason why I left.
“Just two weeks after I had found what I thought was the perfect job, one of the owners is arrested for alleged money laundering – the floor broke beneath me.”
