Born: Black­burn, 1976 (Age 38) 1995-1997 A striker, Ormerod joined Non-League Ac­cring­ton Stan­ley af­ter he’d been re­leased by home­town Black­burn. Scored 32 goals in 54 ap­pear an­ces which per­suaded then-Di­vi­sion Two Black­pool to fork out £50,000. 1997-2001 Suf­fered a bad dou­ble leg break as the Seasiders were rel­e­gated to Di­vi­sion Three in the 1999-2000 sea­son.The next year Ormerod helped the club to pro­mo­tion. Scored the fourth goal at the Mil­len­nium Sta­dium in the 4-2 play-off fi­nal win against Ley­ton Ori­ent. 2001-2006 Joined Southamp­ton for £1.75m. Scored 13 goals in 98 ap­pear­ances for the Saints and played in the FA Cup fi­nal de­feat to Ar­se­nal in 2003. 2006-2009 Moved to Pre­ston and had loan spells at Old­ham and Not­ting­ham For­est, who fin­ished as League One run­ners-up. 2009-2012 Re­turned to Black­pool and won pro­mo­tion to the Pre­mier League, scor­ing the play-off fi­nal win­ner against Cardiff City. When he scored in English foot­ball’s top flight, it ticked off a goal in all the top four di­vi­sions for the club. 2012-present Won the FA Tro­phy in his first sea­son with Wrex­ham but missed out on pro­mo­tion to the League when they were beaten by New­port in the play-off fi­nal. Joined Evo-Stik NPL North Padi­ham at the be­gin­ning of this sea­son.
