MK DONS’ PROMOTION CHARGE FALTERING

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE ONE -

PRESTON are in pole position to secure the final automatic promotion spot after this convincing win.

Meanwhile MK Dons’ season appears to be spiralling out of control after such a strong start.

Karl Robinson’s side were second-best throughout this one, even though they had a number of chances to score. But they are clearly missing the long-departed Benik Afobe and now injured Dele Alli.

This defeat is the Dons’ third in the space of a week after going down to strugglers Coventry last Saturday and play-off hopefuls Chesterfield during midweek.

And it’s now six wins in seven for Simon Grayson’s men as they look to be gathering pace and form just at the perfect time of the season. But the Lilywhites are ten points off leaders Bristol City – albeit with a game in hand – so they’ll need to make sure they maintain their current form if they’re to have any hope of making top spot their own come the end of the season.
