KANE IS ABLE AS SPURS GO SIXTH
QPR ..............1 TOTTENHAM 2
HOT-SHOT Harry Kane struck twice as Tottenham boosted their hopes of Champions League qualification with a narrow win at Loftus Road.
Kane met Andros Townsend’s deep free-kick to head the visitors in front before the interval, becoming the first Spurs player since the inception of the Premier League to score in six consecutive away games.
Charlie Austin had hit the bar in a fine start for the home side, but they were cursing their luck when Kane doubled Spurs’ advantage in the second half before Sandro scored late on against his former employers to set up a grandstand finish.
But Spurs held firm to record their second win in four days and move up to sixth in the table, just three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
QPR, meanwhile, missed the chance to climb out of the bottom three and remain three points adrift of safety.
