PO­LICE MAKE AR­RESTS AF­TER WAT­FORD FAN ATTACK

THREE peo­ple have been ar­rested by West Mid­lands Po­lice fol­low­ing an attack on a Wat­ford fan af­ter last week­end’s draw with Wolves.

Nick Cruwys, 44, was put into an in­duced coma af­ter be­ing tripped and kicked in the head as he made his way to the train sta­tion fol­low­ing the 2-2 draw.

An 18-year-old man was ar­rested at 3.30am on Thurs­day. An­other 18year-old and a 13-year-old have al­ready been ar­rested and re­leased on bail.

The Wolver­hamp­ton Ex­press & Star has of­fered a £1,000 re­ward to any­one who gives in­for­ma­tion that leads to a con­vic­tion, while an on­line fundrais­ing cam­paign for fa­ther-oftwo Cruwys has ac­cu­mu­lated more than £25,000 in dona­tions.

De­tec­tive chief in­spec­tor Chris Han­son said: “I would like to take this op­por­tu­nity to thank peo­ple for pro­vid­ing in­for­ma­tion and I am now ap­peal­ing to any­one else in­volved in this in­ci­dent to come for­ward.

“My team of de­tec­tives are determined to trace ev­ery­one that was in­volved, they will iden­tify you, they will get you, and they will knock on your door. Do the right thing, think of this fam­ily man with young chil­dren and come for­ward.”
