Patient Cis back in semis

The Football League Paper - - LEAGUE TWO -

GOLDEN oldie Cis Platten was six the last time Reading played in the FA Cup semi-finals – now she’s 93!

The Royals’ superfan was picked out for a special mention by the BBC cameras in last Monday’s 3-0 quarter-final romp against Bradford City. Now she can look forward to a semi-final against Arsenal at Wembley next month.

Cis was a programme seller at the club’s former home, Elm Park, for 50 years and is the oldest member of the STAR Supporters’ Trust at Reading. “It was when I got married that I got hooked,” she said. “My husband was fed up with me moaning so one day he took me along to a game and that was it!”

However, Cis has still got a way to go to catch up with Bristol Rovers fan Kitty Thorne – who still avidly follows the Vanarama Conference leaders at the ripe old age of 100.
