CALL CALM ABOUT THE BLUES TALK

The Football League Paper - - INSIDE: - By Joshua Richards

BEING linked with Chelsea would be a distraction for many young players but Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe insists Callum Wilson’s head hasn’t been turned.

Wilson had notched 19 goals before yesterday’s clash with Middlesbrough and that haul has seen the striker linked with a move to the Premier League leaders and Aston Villa.

But Howe is confident that the 23year-old, who moved to the Goldsands Stadium from Coventry last summer, is still fully focused on the job in hand as the Cherries gun for promotion.

“I don’t think the Chelsea speculation affected Callum at all,” said Howe. “It goes with the territory when you score goals and are successful, especially at a young age which he is.

“He is going to have to get used to it because I don’t think it will stop if he continues performing as he has.

“Callum is level-headed and very focused on short-term objectives so we are fortunate that he is built that way.

“I have no doubt that if he maintains his form, he will be linked with other clubs.”
