March 29, 1980: Paul Cooper, the Ipswich goalkeeper, saves two penalties in a match v Derby County, making it eight saves from the last ten penalties he’s faced. March 30, 1946: A Division Three North Cup replay between Stockport County and Doncaster Rovers lasts 203 minutes and then has to be abandoned through bad light with the score at 2-2. No one could net the golden goal winner. March 31, 1928: Huddersfield Town provide five players for the England v Scotland international at Wembley yet still manage to beat Bury 3-2 at Gigg Lane in the league. April 1, 1995:The two linesmen for the Cambridge United v Plymouth Argyle league game are named ‘French & Saunders’! April 2, 1934:Wilf Milne makes 501 appearances for Swansea Town before scoring his first goal for them v Lincoln City. April 3, 1972: Burnley go into a 3-1 lead v Sunderland at Roker Park but lose the match 4-3. Exactly the same thing happened in November 1966 between the two sides.
