NEW Notts County manager Ricardo Moniz says he is not interested in players who talk the talk – only those who can walk the walk.

Former Hamburg boss Moniz joined County on a three-year contract this week to replace former manager Shaun Derry, who was sacked in March.

The 50-year-old Dutchman is a former Tottenham skills coach and led Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg to the double in 2012.

He now has just five games remaining to haul the Magpies to safety but believes the real onus is on his players.

“A trainer can only train, a coach can only coach, the players must do it, they must use their specific qualities and have the confidence to do that,” explained Moniz.

“In the philosophy, yes there must be a few changes, because in the philosophy you have to be capable of scoring chances.

“When you score goals you win, when you don’t score goals, you don’t win. You can have all the possibilities and nice words but it’s only about statistics and what a player brings – that’s the difference between the top and average.”
