NOTTINGHAM Forest are lining up a bid for Millwall goalkeeper David Forde if he leaves The Den at the end of the season.
The Republic of Ireland international has been an ever present for the Championship strugglers this season and is weighing up his options.
Forde only signed a new three-year contract with Millwall last summer but has struggled to find his best form this term.
If the Lions are relegated from the Championship, Forde, 35, faces losing a substantial amount of his wages as he has a relegation clause inserted into the deal.
And Millwall could be tempted into offloading him and bringing in a younger player with any transfer fee that they get for him.
Forest need to sign a new keeper this summer after selling current first choice Karl Darlow.
The 24-year-old was sold to Newcastle United last year, but loaned back to Forest for this season.
It means Forest boss Dougie Freedman needs to find a replacement.
Forde, who has been at Millwall since arriving on a free transfer from Cardiff City in 2008, is on the list of players that he would like to sign. READING are watching highlyrated Shrewsbury central defender Connor Goldson with a view to making a a summer move.
The 22-year-old only has a year left on his contract and could be tempted by a move to the Championship from the League Two promotion-chasers. CHELSEA are the early pacesetters in the race to land Fulham starlet Patrick Roberts at the end of the season.
Fulham are preparing to offer the highly-rated winger a new contract but it would appear they are facing a battle to keep him at the club.
Roberts, 19, has been watched by a host of Premier League sides this season despite playing in a Fulham side that is dangerously close to the Championship relegation zone.
The England U19 star was left out of the squad that faced Charlton in midweek and has started just three times for Fulham.
But that hasn’t put off Chelsea, who are aiming to get one over on their local rivals by snatching one of their most highly prized players. Roberts has previously been linked with Arsenal.
