RUSS HAS GROUNDS FOR HOPE
BOSS Russ Wilcox says York City must be assured of their Football League status ahead of their move to a new stadium in 2016.
The Minstermen have been playing their home matches at Bootham Crescent for the last 83 years but will move to a new home after plans were approved last month.
The 51-year-old took over in October with the club one place above the relegation zone, and he said: “There’s no point having a new stadium and playing Non-League. I’ve seen the plans and I want to be the man that takes us into the new stadium.”
York beat Hartlepool 1-0 yesterday to give their survival chances a major boost.
