ZAK MAKES RETURN IN STYLE
AFTER almost six months on the sidelines with injury, Zak Whitbread admits he was delighted to mark his return with a win and a clean sheet.
Whitbread helped Derby to a 4-0 victory over relegated Blackpool on Tuesday night.
The former Liverpool youth product had not started a first-team match for the Rams since October, having been sidelined by a hamstring problem.
The 31-year-old centreback said:“It was a good performance from the lads and, on a personal note, I was happy to be named in the team and for it to go well.
“It was important for us to keep a clean sheet.We kept each other on our toes.”
