BREWERS LOOK A CUT ABOVE SHRIMPS
BURTON Albion looked every inch a side destined for promotion from the first minute and so it proved.
The Brewers quickly gained a stranglehold on the game by pressing Morecambe at every opportunity, forcing several mistakes and it soon told.
Laurence Wilson made an impatient attempt to regain possession and upended Stuart Beavon in the box and even though Damien McCrory had his penalty saved, the Brewers’ pressing game paid dividends two minutes later when they once again forced a turnover in possession allowing Lucas Akins to score.
The athletic Akins was able to capitalise from the penalty spot in the second half after yet another Morecambe mistake this time from Andres Arestidou.
But the number of errors made by the players in red owed as much to the tenacity with which the players in yellow went about retrieving possession, as their own deficiencies.
